At Athens Pet Sitter, we get serious about our pet sitters. Handpicked and meticulously screened, including an official background check, our pet sitters know we think the world of them by the time we accept them into the APS pack — and we think you will too! Enjoy a quick introduction below to our fabulous team.
HI, I’m Jamie. I have been working with animals for over 10 years and am currently employed at UGA’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
I worked in a general practice veterinary clinic for 5 years and during this time I decided to go back to school, where I earned an associate degree in Veterinary Technology and have now been a registered technician (RVT) for 6 years.
Caring for animals truly is my passion.
Mary Frances graduated from UGA in 2015 with a degree in Animal Science. She currently works at the UGA Vet School as a Lab Animal Technician and plans to attend Vet School next year.
She grew up in Macon, Georgia and worked there at a small animal clinic and as a barn manager.
Her hobbies include spending time with her dogs at the dog park and traveling.
For 25 years my career was in Dentistry. It’s very rewarding to give a person a beautiful smile!
In another community, I began my own pet sitting business. When we moved to Athens, I met Melinda and Daniel and joined Athens Pet Sitter.
My goal is to give pets the best care and love while you are on vacation or just out for the day. My hobby is photography.
One of my favorite things to do is surprise someone with a great picture of their pet.
I am a student at the University of Georgia majoring in Management with a certificate in Music Business. I have a love for all animals and experience caring for all kinds including dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, turtles, guinea pigs, chickens and lots more.
I am also a member of the University of Georgia IHSA Equestrian Team and has over 12 years of experience working with and showing horses of all different personality types.
In my free time I enjoy hiking, traveling, riding horses, and spending time with my dog, Iris.
I’m Anne, I grew up on a beef cattle and horse farm in northwest Georgia. I started working in a veterinary clinic while in high school and became a licensed veterinary technician in 2004. I currently work at the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
I joined APS to provide services in Oglethorpe County. If you have cats, cattle or anything in between, I would love to care for your critters when you’re away.
I am grew in NJ and have been in Athens for about 20 years. I have always been a pet lover and excited to be part of the APS team.
I look forward to taking care of your pets.
Jen Simmons has been an animal lover her whole life. From learning to care for her first kitten at age 5 , to her current “furry family” of rescues—animals have always been her greatest joy.
She has experienced the happiness of returning several lost pets to their owners, and carries a spare leash for such occasions!
Jen is always ready to give any animal the patience, attention, and love they deserve.
I grew up in Athens with a Scottie, and have lived in the Northeast for many years. My Sheltie, Abbey, is my best pal. She and I love agility, and have a large circle of dog-best-friends who are nearly part of our family. I am spending this year back in Athens, taking a bit of a breather from my design consulting business to teach at UGA and work on a book.
Though a designer by trade, I’m a dog lover by passion, and have long taken care of friends’ dogs, including geriatric and ill dogs, particularly when I lived in New York City and couldn’t have a dog of my own.
I’m pleased to join the Athens Pet Sitter team and am honored to be trusted to care for your pets. The highlight of my day is meeting new furry friends!

Hi, I’m Matet. I’m currently a student at the University of North Georgia studying biology. I’ve had many different animals over the years from frogs to dogs and I’ve loved every single one of them. Currently, I have three dogs, two cats, and a fire-bellied toad.
I give all the animals I look after the same love and affection that they would get from their families making sure they are always happy and comfortable while you are out of town.
It’s an honor and a pleasure that you trust me with your furry, feathered, and scaled little friends and I’m so excited to work with them and you in the future!
